Walk the Walk

WALK THE WALK

We walk the walk with You, oh dear Christ
And we carry our cross as did You
As we try to live the love You proclaimed
In all that we say and do.

The Old Testaments of all the world's people
Whether they're Gentile or Jew
Were growning in utterance, groaning thru time,
Waiting to recognize You.

Oh we who believe that You came to save us
From the self-centered lives that we live
Though divided in some ways, still we proclaim
In Faith, the salvation you give.

Diverse though we be, in so many ways
In Faith, we're united in You
And the heaviest cross that we carry today
Is trying to love as You do.

Help us to see beyond our own world
Rejoicing in what others bring.
With such rich diversity, such wealth of Grace
With heavenly harmony sing!

For You see the struggles of all the world's people
And You read the heart of each one
God, give us the vision, give us Your love
So we might walk the walk with Your Son.

So the walk we walk, and the cross we carry
Levels and lightens with Charity
And our differences shine for all to behold
Like the twinkling lights on the tree.

As light to the world, in Faith we're united.
Where Love is, there God is, we know,
Beyond our divisions, beyond all our sin,
We struggle to let that Light glow.
